the Paniagua Family: 2013

baby boy

We found out we are having a boy on Christmas morning!

My ultra sound appointment is scheduled on January 16th but I wanted to have fun this time around with finding out the gender of our baby. I found a little place called Fetal Fotos where they do pregnancy massages, 2d\3d pictures and gender verification. So I thought perfect! We went in on December 22nd to find out the gender but I asked them to put the results in an envelope so that way we could open it as a family on Christmas morning.

They put the results in a gender neutral green envelope and there it sat at the top of our Christmas tree. I was so tempted to take a peak but of course I didn't.

So we all woke up Christmas morning, opened all of our gifts and then it was time.

My mom, grandma and brother couldn't make it to Utah for Christmas so we Skyped with them so they can share the moment with us.

I opened the envelope, saw the picture and there it said, "I'm a boy!" I think the first thing I said was, "oh my gosh!" I was overwhelmed with excitement at the fact that we will have a son!!

i think its pretty obvious its a boy! The ultra sound girl told us he had his legs up and open the whole time!

Bring on the all the boy stuff!! This will be a completely different world for us since we have always been surrounded by pinks, purples, and girly stuff!

We are still trying to think of a name for our little man...but we still have some time.

christmas/new years eve

This year for Christmas we kept it small and low key which was wonderful.

The Sunday before Christmas, the girls wore their beautiful Christmas dresses that grandma and grandpa Paniagua bought them. They looked so adorable in their matchy matchy dresses. Church was so spiritual and beautiful and was exactly what we needed to start the Christmas feeling of the savior.

on Christmas eve, we had delicious family dinner, we all opened one Christmas present which was Christmas pj's, had family home evening and made ginger bread houses!

we put the girls to bed then we put Sophia's big girl bed together.

Christmas morning we all woke up and opened all of our presents. The girls had so much fun and just seeing the surprise look on their face ever time they opened a present was priceless!

We then opened the envelope to find out the gender of the baby.

The rest of the day we just hung out, had another delicious dinner and played with all of our new toys.

Later that night, Brian and I went to the movies (its been forever since we had gone to the movies). We saw parental guidance which was so cute and funny.

for new years eve we ordered wings (family tradition) and just hung out at home. The girls went to sleep early and the in laws and us stayed up till mid night then went to bed. I know, so much fun but Sophia and Brian were sick so it was better that we stayed home.

So excited for 2013!

isabella's first birthday

The morning of Isabella's birthday we went to city creek with our friends Jennifer and Carter.

Isabella LOVED the slide and figured out how to do it all by herself.

The rest of the day we hung out and played at home. Once daddy and grandpa got home, we had a family dinner then bundled up(its was so cold outside) and headed to Hogle zoo to see the zoo lights. It was our first time we had gone for the lights...super cute the way they decorated zoo.
